Journalist Mehmet Aslan was released in the first hearing of the lawsuit filed against him at Istanbul 24th Assize Court due to “illegal organisation membership” and “reporting news that are provocative for the masses” through the news he reported as well as his meetings with news resources. The next hearing was scheduled for October 14. Mesopotamia News Agency reporter Aslan has been arrested since January 9.
