Journalist Fatih Portakal was threatened by pro-government Ottoman Hearths members after the targeting of President Erdoğan, who said, “This nation will break the back of your neck” due to Portakal’s criticisms against the obstacles in front of the right to protest. The group placed a black wreath in front of FOX TV building and the Ottoman Hearths Founder and Chairman Kadir Canpolat made a statement on behalf of the group. Threatening the journalist, Canpolat said, “There are those who eat the bread of this land, yet betray it… Portakal, we reprimand you. Those who stir our country under every opportunity must know that at least 52 percent of the population are waiting at their homes, grinding their teeth.”
