Faik Akgün, Editor-in-Chief of Günışığı Daily, one of the local newspapers of Elazığ, reported the death of university student Enes Kara, who ended his life by describing the pressure he had faced in the religious community house where he was forced to stay by his family in Elazığ, and his anxiety for the future, with the headline, “He could not stand the pressure of the religious community and he committed suicide”. The article was removed from the newspaper’s website. Akgün, who continues to work for the newspaper, stated that he received dozens of threat calls during the period of the news, and some of them introduced themselves as members of the religious community in question.
