BirGün Daily’s News Director Uğur Şahin was detained by the police as he wanted to record visuals of a male violence against a woman in Şişli district of Istanbul. The journalist was released after testifying at the police station. The reason for the journalist’s detainment is the Security General Directorate ban against the recording of visuals and voices during social and forensic incidents, through a circular issued on April 27.
