An investigation was launched on January 9 against Murat Ongun, the former Chairman of the Board of Directors of İBB Medya A.Ş., who is currently detained in connection with the İBB case, on charges of “publicly disseminating misleading information” based on his X posts. Ongun’s lawyer, Rahşan Sertkaya Daniş, announced the investigation, which was initiated ex officio by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office. Access to Ongun’s X account had been blocked in Turkey on January 2 on grounds of national security and public order.
