Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office opened an investigation against Conscientious Objection Association member and conscientious objector Abdülmelik Yalçın due to the posts on the official website of the association, vicdaniret.org, as well as on the association’s social media accounts. The investigation was opened due to “denigrating the military organisation of the state” in accordance with Article 301 of the Turkish Criminal Code.
