Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office started an investigation against Cumhuriyet Daily writer Mine Kırıkkanat with the allegation of “denigrating a part of society” due to her speech on Halk TV.
Kırıkkanat evaluated the investigation with these statements: “Everyone is being threatened through Uğur Dündar. So far, investigations were opened against Yılmaz Özdil, Metin akpınar, Müjdat Gezen and I for participating in the Public Arena show of Uğur Dündar on Halk TV. The show was penalised by the Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) as well. We face investigations to pay the price of our courage leading to high ratings and the response to the sympathy of the public towards fearless patriots. Dündar is also paying the price of his show and hosting us at his show. The high rating we receive is not good for them before the elections.”
