Following the complaint of Lieutenant General Musa Çitil, who was tried and acquitted for 13 unsolved murders in Derik district of Mardin, an investigation was launched against Evrensel Daily columnist Sevda Karaca on the charge of “targeting those taking part in the fight against terrorism,” “insulting a public official” and “making propaganda for a terrorist organization” because of her article titled, “What does the state, that protects Musa Orhan, say to women?”
