The indictment against journalist Sedef Kabaş, who was arrested on January 22 for “insulting Erdoğan”, has been completed. In the indictment prepared by the Press Office of the Istanbul Public Prosecutor’s Office, a prison sentence of up to 7 years was sought on the charge of successively “insulting the President”, and an additional 4 years and 8 months of imprisonment was claimed due to Kabaş’s criticisms of ministers Süleyman Soylu and Adil Karaismailoğlu on the charged of “insulting a public official because of his duty”. The indictment was sent to the Istanbul 36th Criminal Court of First Instance.
