The indictment prepared against journalist Cihan Ölmez, who was detained in October 2020 together with 151 others within the investigation conducted by Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, was accepted by Diyarbakır 5th Assize Court. The speeches Ölmez gave during the curfew in Cizre and him sharing news entered the case file as criminal evidence. In the indictment prepared due to “making illegal organisation propaganda”, Bianet and Evrensel Daily were described as “press organisations making pro-terrorist organisation publications.”
