The lawsuit filed at the Van 2nd Assize Court regarding the death of 17-year-old Afghan refugee Lütfillah Tajik, who died in the hospital after being beaten at the Van Deportation Center in 2014, was concluded. The defendant police officer S.O was sentenced to five months in prison for “simple injury”, and the sentence was deferred. On the other hand, police officer H.Ö. was acquitted of the charge of “neglect of duty”.
