A citizen in Iskenderun district of Hatay, Hüseyin Gör was sentenced to 8 months and 25 days of imprisonment due to liking a comment under a Facebook post depicting the photo of Presidential Communications Director Fahrettin Altun, that said, “High democracy is such a thing that it is a terror crime to report news on theft.” Istanbul 16th Criminal Court of First Instance convicted Gör of “insult” without a hearing and deferred the announcement of the verdict.
