The final hearing of the KCK Yüksekova Case was held at the Hakkari 1st Assize Court with 30 defendants, including Yüksekova Municipality Co-Mayor Remziye Yaşar, who was dismissed and replaced by a trustee. The court sentenced Yaşar and 2 defendants, who were detained within the scope of the file, to 17 years and 6 months in prison on the allegation of “terrorist organization membership”. 27 people, including journalists, Yüksekova News Daily owner Necip Cross and Hakkarinews news website manager Abdülmenaf Söyleci, were sentenced to 8 years and 9 months in prison each on the same charge.
