Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor and CHP presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu testified at Çağlayan Courthouse as part of the “political espionage” investigation. The prosecution procedures of TELE1 Editor-in-Chief Merdan Yanardağ and campaign director Necati Özkan, who were detained within the same investigation, were completed. The three names were arrested by the Criminal Judicature of Peace to which they were referred in accordance with TCK 328/1. Thus, Imamoğlu was arrested on the second charge in addition to his existing detention due to the “financial” investigation against IBB.
