TELE1 Editor-in-Chief Merdan Yanardağ was detained for “espionage” as part of an investigation by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office; his house and the channel were searched. The Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office also detained 15 people for allegedly leaking data of millions of users from IBB’s “Istanbul Senin” and “IBB Hanem” applications. In the statement, it was reported that the file was expanded with allegations of espionage and “interest-based organization” against the 2019 elections and some names.
