Human Rights Association (IHD) demanded for the Human Rights Association (IHD) Ağrı Chairman Atilla Özbey and executive Emin Yıldız, who were detained from their houses on October 6 based on the press statements they made, demonstrations and meetings they participated in; to be released. The association indicated that the authoritarian government continues its politics of pressure through the judiciary, treating legal and legitimate activities like crimes. The association further stated, “It was revealed even more with the latest operation in Ağrı that Turkey does not comply with the United Nations Declaration on Human Rights Defenders.”
