A court imposed house arrest and a travel ban on theater actor Levent Üzümcü, who was detained on a charge of “inciting the public to hatred and hostility.” Police detained Üzümcü, artistic director of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality City Theaters, after a social media post criticizing the government. Prosecutors referred Üzümcü to a judgeship with a request for his arrest.
