Republican People’s Party (CHP) arrested Party Assembly member and former Istanbul MP Eren Erdem was released in the case he is arrested in remand due to the news published on Karşı Daily, where Erdem was previously the Editor-In-Chief. Istanbul 23rd Assize Court released Erdem with judicial control and the Prosecutor’s Office claimed an imprisonment sentence against Erdem from 8.5years up to 19 years due to “willfully aiding an illegal organization without being a member” and “violation of privacy.” On the other hand, the 18-thousand-TL compensation issued against Erdem due to insulting Minister of Treasury and Finance Berat Albayrak was approved by the Court of Appeals.
