Confederation of Progressive Trade Unions of Turkey (DISK) Chair Arzu Çerkezoğlu was acquitted of the lawsuit in which she was on trial due to the press statement she read in front of Diyarbakır Gazi Yaşargil Training and Research Hospital during the time she was the secretary general of the union.
Diyarbakır 8th Criminal Court of First Instance decided that Çerkezoğlu used her freedom of expression and thought with her expressions within the statement, entitled, “This fire would burn everyone; we don’t want to kill while making others live.” “Another side in this war is wannabe dictator Erdoğan; the primary supporter of all jihadist gangs, especially ISIS as the executioner of all kinds of oppression, pillage and looting; as well as a war cryer together with his gang and government. Another side of the war is us,” Çerkezoğlu had stated.
