Three students at Osman Ötken Anatolian High School in Hatay’s Antakya district were suspended for three days on charges of “obscene and illegal posters” after they protested their teacher’s transfer to another school by writing on the school bulletin board. Parents accused the school administration of threatening children with prosecution, discrimination and violating children’s rights. The posters included phrases such as “We are satisfied with our teacher, aren’t you?”. Parents say the punishment has no legal basis and jeopardizes children’s future.
