CHP’s arrested presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu’s diploma case was held in Silivri. The prosecution demanded imprisonment from 2 years and 6 months to 8 years and 9 months and a political ban due to “forgery of official documents in a chain”. In his defense, İmamoğlu stated that the case was filed due to his electoral success and said, “This indictment was written by the person who knew that I would defeat him in the next election.” The court decided that his lawyer Mehmet Pehlivan will be connected via SEGBİS from prison and adjourned the hearing to October 20.
