In the lawsuit filed by Dr. R. Nazlı Somel, who was dismissed from Boğaziçi University Faculty of Education after her contract was not renewed, the Istanbul Administrative Court issued a stay of execution on June 4, 2025. Eğitim İş Union stated that the trustee rector tried to get a negative report by forming a new jury despite the positive jury and board decisions. The court found this process unlawful and ruled that the dismissal was invalid. Eğitim İş demanded the immediate implementation of the decision and Somel’s reinstatement.
