Istanbul Anatolian Anatolian 2nd Civil Court of Peace blocked access to Sabah daily columnist Dilek Güngör’s column within hours and filed a criminal complaint. It was claimed that the expression “conditions worse than prison” in the article was misleading to the public.
While it was stated that the article contained public interest content about Koç Holding’s doyen İnan Kıraç and his family, legal circles emphasized that the decision was contrary to ECHR jurisprudence.
Güngör’s lawyers will file a complaint to the Council of Judges and Prosecutors (HSK) about the decision.
