The 4th Criminal Chamber of the Court of Cassation overturned the 1 year, 2 months and 17 days imprisonment sentence given to journalist Ahmet Ayva for his social media posts. In the decision, it was emphasized that the posts did not mention any names and were in the nature of political criticism, and it was ruled that the elements of the crime of “insulting the President” did not occur.
