Akdeniz University academic Hafize Öztürk Türkmen, who was dismissed by a state of emergency decree for signing the Peace Declaration, has been reinstated. The Council of State overturned the previous annulment decision and ruled that Türkmen be reinstated and all her monetary rights be paid with legal interest. The court stated that the actions presented as grounds for dismissal did not have a concrete basis against constitutional loyalty. This is the first positive decision of the Council of State against a peace academic.
