Conscientious objector Ali Fikri Işık, who faced a lawsuit at Istanbul 41st Criminal Court of First Instance due to “alienating the public against military service” through writing, “Don’t perform military service, go to the club and dance” and “Military fugitives are my heroes” on social media. Işık was put on trial many times so far due to being against the obligatory military service and served 6.5 months in prison at Edirne Military Prison in 2012 and 2013.
