Republican People’s Party (CHP) member and former Izmir former Provincial Deputy Chair Banu Özdemir was acquitted in the lawsuit filed at Izmir 50th Criminal Court of First Instance against her with the allegation of “public incitement towards resentment and hostility” due to her social media posts on the broadcast of the song “Ciao Bella” from the mosque speakers in Izmir. Özdemir had remained under arrest for nine days and was released within the lawsuit.
