The final decree was issued in the lawsuit filed against Evrensel Daily’s former Managing Editor Cem Şimşek due to “insulting the President” through the news article published in the newspaper with the headline, “German cartoonists drew Erdoğan so bad”. The court sentenced the journalist to 11 months and 20 days of imprisonment. The announcement of the verdict was deferred.
