An administrative investigation was started against Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu due to the posters of the Municipality to create public opinion against the construction of Canal Istanbul. The Interior Ministry claims that the posters, which exhibited the slogans, “Either Canal or Istanbul” and “Who Needs Canal Istanbul”, have violated the principles of “the unity and integrity of the state” regulated at Articles 104, 123 and 127 of the Turkish Constitution.
