The court ordered academic Bülent Şık to pay 50,000 TL in compensatory damages and 1 TL in punitive damages for his scientific articles on pollen and bee products. The court also ordered the removal of Şık’s articles and social media posts. Şık’s lawyers argued that the articles contained scientific warnings aimed at protecting public health.
