The indictment prepared by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office against 21 people who supported the one-day consumption boycott on April 2, 2025 on social media was completed. The indictment demands imprisonment from 2 years and 6 months to 7 years and 6 months for 21 people, including actor Cem Yiğit Üzümoğlu. The indictment charges them with “preventing economic activity by discriminating between individuals” and “publicly inciting hatred and hostility through the press”. The boycott was called by millions of people in the wave of uprisings that began on March 19.
