Alaattin Köseler, the suspended Beykoz Mayor Alaattin Köseler, was released three days ago but was re-arrested upon the prosecutor’s objection.
Istanbul Anatolian 17th High Criminal Court had ordered the release of 13 arrested defendants, including Köseler. However, upon the objection of the prosecutor’s office, Köseler, Veli Gümüş, Serdar Karahan, Havva Dindar and Uğur İnci were re-arrested.
The defendants are on trial on charges of “bid rigging” and “establishing an organization to commit a crime, membership and assistance”. CHP Group Deputy Chairman Ali Mahir Basarir criticized the development, calling it “organized”.
