Artist Emel Çiftçi was acquitted in the lawsuit filed against her on charges of “membership in an illegal organization” and “leading an illegal organization” in connection with investigations launched in Ankara and Batman based on a secret witness statement. The artist, who was undergoing cancer treatment, was also imprisoned for a while within the scope of the related case.
