Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, TELE1 Editor-in-Chief Merdan Yanardağ and consultant Necati Özkan were arrested on charges of “political espionage” under TCK 328. The prosecutor’s office referred the three names to the Criminal Judgeship of Peace for allegedly transferring personal data to foreign intelligence units. Judge issued an arrest warrant after interrogation.
