Three of five people detained in the Sarıgül investigation, conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office over allegations of money laundering through companies established in Türkiye and abroad, were referred to a criminal judgeship of peace with a request for their arrest. After taking their statements, the prosecutor’s office requested the arrest of Cihan Tunç, Ümit İlker Avcı and Çağlar Sezgin and house arrest for Beşir Ömer Demir and Atakan Eren. Fifteen people, including journalist Murat Ağırel, Ömer and Emir Sarıgül, Aylin Kotil, Volkan Aslanbaş and Cavidan Tanrah Artuner, had previously been arrested in the same investigation.
