Appeal court decree in “Sözcü Daily Case”

27th Criminal Chamber of Istanbul Regional Court denied the appeal application made by nine people, including Sözcü Daily writers Emin Çölaşan and Necati Doğru, Editor-In-Chief Metin Yılmaz and newspaper owner Burak Akbay on the decree of conviction they received with the allegation of “aiding FETÖ”. In the lawsuit held at Istanbul 37th Assize Court, Çölaşan had been sentenced to 3 years, 6 months and 15 days; Doğru to 3 years, 6 months and 15 days, online Editor-In-Chief Mustafa Çetin to 3 years and 4 months, Editor-In-Chief Metin Yılmaz to 3 years and 4 months, online news coordinator Gökmen Ulu to 1 year and 13 months, accountant Yonca Yücekaleli to 1 year and 13 months of imprisonment. The file will be carried to the Court of Cassation.
