T.Ç., a history teacher working in the Gebze district of Kocaeli, faced an investigation on charges of “insulting the president” due to social media posts in which he protested the removal of Atatürk displays he had prepared for his classroom. The teacher, who was removed from his school in January 2026, was reassigned to another high school and announced that he would appeal the decision.
