Amnesty International launches urgent action campaign for Kavala and Aksakoğlu

Amnesty International started an urgent action campaign for the abatement of all charges imposed against 16 NGO representatives and for Osman Kavala and Yiğit Aksakoğlu to be released. Kavala and Aksakoğlu are arrested in remand within the Gezi Park Case.

The urgent action text stated that “the indictment is full of baseless accusations” and that Kavala, who is arrested for 16 months, as well as Aksakoğlu, who is arrested for 4 months, are “arbitrarily being deprived of their freedoms with unreal accusations.”
