Diyarbakır 11th Assize Court issued the acquittals of academics Murat Kızıl, Murat Biricik and Fikret Uyar, who were on trial due to signing the Peace Petition. Istanbul 28th Assize Court also issued a decree of acquittal on the file of five academics, who were on trial due to the “Peace Petition,” without even holding a hearing. The same court issued the acquittal of disobedient civilian Necmi Demir, who supported the academics. Thus, the number of scientists, who were acquittal following the decree of violation issued by the Constitutional Court for the “peace academics,” increased to nine. On the other hand, the first decree of acquittal was issued in the cases of 17 disobedient civilians, who were on trial due to supporting the academics.
