Access was blocked to numerous X accounts belonging to media outlets, journalists, academics and people working in economics and finance on the grounds of “protecting national security and public order.” The blocked accounts included those of Kısa Dalga, journalists Hilmi Hacaloğlu, Alptekin Dursunoğlu and Razi Canikligil, investment adviser Emre Şirin, political economist İnan Mutlu, academic Prof. Dr. Barış Övgün and Umut-Sen co-founder Başaran Aksu. X made most of the accounts unavailable in Türkiye.
