Access was blocked to Bursa-based Şehir Gazetesi, sehirmedya.com and the social media accounts of newspaper owner Nezir Asaroğlu following a complaint by Osman Çelik, brother of AKP Artvin MP Faruk Çelik. On social media, Asaroğlu asked why Osman Çelik had not been arrested in the investigation into Bursa Metropolitan Mayor Mustafa Bozbey while contractors were arrested over allegations of irregular apartment sales in exchange for increased zoning rights. A prosecutor’s report alleged that Özçeliksan, a company owned by the Çelik family, had sold an apartment from the Biaport project in Nilüfer to the Verev company, which was linked to Bozbey. Osman Çelik’s lawyer Mustafa Yıldırım said the allegations were unfounded and announced that they would file a criminal complaint. Asaroğlu published page 181 of the prosecutor’s report and called for documents concerning the sales transactions to be disclosed. Following these developments, access was blocked to the newspaper and Asaroğlu’s social media accounts upon Osman Çelik’s complaint.
