The EngelliWeb project of the Freedom of Expression Association announced that the number of game pages on the Steam gaming platform subject to access-blocking decisions had risen to 767. The number of game pages blocked under decisions by criminal judgeships of peace was recorded as 45 on 27 August and 255 on 25 September. The latest review found that the number had reached 767. EngelliWeb determined that 762 of the games were classified by Steam under at least one adult-content category, while five had no adult-content classification. Of the games reviewed, 738 were classified as containing some nudity or sexual content, 726 as containing frequent nudity or sexual content, 725 as containing adult-only sexual content, and 92 as containing frequent violence or gore. An LGBTI+ tag was also identified on 198 games. Steam had not yet hidden the games from users in Türkiye despite the access-blocking decisions. The association noted that new regulations due to enter into force on 1 November 2026 would require foreign gaming platforms with more than 100,000 daily users to appoint a representative in Türkiye and provide age ratings and parental controls. Failure to comply could result in fines and bandwidth throttling of between 30 and 50 percent.
