The Freedom of Expression Association (İFÖD) announced that access was blocked on 8 October to at least 39 X accounts, including those of writer, historian and journalist Dilek Zaptçıoğlu, economic commentator Ayhan Dadaloğlu, lawyer Lale Demirkazan, journalist Ayça Yılmaz and social media user Arşiv Saka. X made most of the accounts unavailable in Türkiye. The blocked accounts had a combined total of about 465,000 followers. Ayhan Dadaloğlu had 242,800 followers, Arşiv Saka 140,600 and Dilek Zaptçıoğlu 24,400. Five accounts had more than 10,000 followers and 15 had more than 1,000. Access to Ayhan Dadaloğlu’s account had also been blocked under his former username on 3 October.
