The Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office appealed the decision to dismiss the case against Nimet Tanrıkulu on the grounds that she had participated in the 2012 Newroz celebrations. The Criminal Court of First Instance overturned the decision on November 17, 2025. The Chief Prosecutor’s Office prepared a new indictment based on the same charges, and the Diyarbakır 8th High Criminal Court accepted the case.
