Hakkari 3rd Assize Court had sentenced the Yüksekova Co-Mayor, who was later replaced with a trustee, to 1 year and three months of imprisonment due to “making terrorist organisation propaganda” and issued his acquittal of the charge of “terrorist organisation membership.” Van Regional Court approved the 1-year 3-month imprisonment sentence issued against Sarı due to “making terrorist organisation propaganda” and reversed the decree of acquittal issued for him on the charges of “terrorist organisation membership”, issuing 6 years and three months of imprisonment against Sarı. In the end, Sarı was sentenced to a total of 7 years and six months of imprisonment.
