Malatya 5th Assize Court sentenced Human Rights Association (IHD) Malatya Chair Gönül Öztürkoğlu to 6 years and three months of imprisonment due to “acting on behalf of a terrorist organisation” and “making illegal organisation propaganda.” Öztürkoğlu was charged due to the panels, press statements, protests she participated in as well as her social media posts.
