Days before the election holiday of the Parliament, 28 new summaries arrived at the Parliament for the legislative immunity of Parliament members to be taken off. One of the summaries sent to the Reconciliation Committee for the Constitution is against a Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) MP, 4 are against Republican People’s Party (CHP) MPs and 23 of them are against People’s Democratic Party (HDP) MPs.
HDP Co-Chair Pervin Buldan, former HDP Co-Chair Selahattin Demirtaş, who is arrested for about 1.5 years, and former HDP Group Deputy Chairman İdris Baluken are among those in subject to the summaries. Parliamentary Deputy Speaker Yaşar Tüzün is among the CHP MPs whose Parliamentary immunity is requested to be taken off.
According to the data announced by the Constitutional Committee on 14 May 2018, 597 summaries were sent to the Parliament for the legislative immunities of 129 MPs to be taken off. There are currently 439 summaries in the Parliament against 52 HDP MPs and 149 summaries against 68 CHP MPs.
