24 thousand people tortured in 17 years

Republican People’s Party (CHP) Istanbul MP Sezgin Tanrıkulu reported the rights violations experienced between the years 2002 and 2019. According to the data by the report, entitled, “Rights Violations Carcass by Ruling AKP,” at least 41,694 people’s rights to life were violated, 23,959 people were identified to have been exposed to torture and mistreatment and 59 people have become victims to hate murders in the last 17 years. According to the data shared by Tanrıkulu, who underlined that the violations are increasing due to insufficient penalisation, at least 721 journalists were arrested during the ruling of the Justice and Development Party (AKP)…
