The Beyoğlu District Governorship banned district-wide assemblies, marches, press statements and similar events for 24 hours on June 28. Security measures were taken in and around Taksim Square and İstiklal Avenue under the decision. Metro İstanbul also announced that the Taksim Metro Station and the Taksim-Kabataş Funicular Line would be temporarily closed.
