Kaos GL Association shared the Hate Crimes Based on Homophobia and Transphobia in Turkey in 2018 Report with the public. The association has a communication network that scopes many provinces in Turkey as well as individual and corporate networks in Ankara. The report is prepared annually through surveys made in these networks. According to the report, individuals attacked due to their sexual orientations or gender identities face such attacks almost all their lives and in every area of life, even in their homes. Attacks are not limited to the moment of attack and continue afterwards in different forms. Victims are being threatened and harrassed previously, with many witnesses as the actual attacks are being performed and more than half of the witnesses either do not react, or do not intervene.
